B2B / Technical Copywriter

Job Title: B2B / Technical Copywriter (Part-Time – 3 Days per Week)
Location: Manchester
Employment Type: Part-time, temporary (six months) 3 days per week (or equivalent hours across 4/5 days)
Salary: £33,000 - £37,000 Full Time Equivalent


Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced B2B / technical copywriter who is accustomed to working in B2B communications to support delivery of content requirements for our marketing and PR client campaigns. This role is ideal for a commercially minded writer who can confidently translate complex technical information into engaging, audience-focused content. 

You will be responsible for developing high-quality copy across multiple channels - from demand gen campaigns, nurture flows and social copy to in-depth whitepapers and industry insight reports. Although we work in highly regulated and technical sectors, we’re looking for a copywriter who can create compelling and entertaining copy that cuts through the swathes of dry content that we see in the sectors our clients serve. 

You will work closely with client services and PR teams, strategists, designers and clients to deliver content that drives engagement, builds authority and supports measurable campaign outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign & marketing content

  • Write and develop B2B campaign copy including:
    • Email marketing campaigns and nurture flows
    • Social media content (primarily LinkedIn)
    • Landing pages and conversion-focused web copy
    • Paid media ad copy (where required)
    • Thought leadership and blog posts
  • Ensure tone of voice aligns with client brand positioning and audience needs

B2B literature & owned media

  • Draft copy for:
    • Brochures and corporate literature
    • Websites (UX-aware, SEO-informed copy)
    • Case studies and customer success stories
    • Sales enablement materials
    • Thought leadership articles and blog content

Technical & insight-led content

  • Research, structure and write:
    • Whitepapers
    • Industry insight reports
    • Technical guides
    • Executive briefings
  • Conduct interviews with subject matter experts and translate complex information into accessible, engaging narratives
  • Ensure content demonstrates authority, credibility and commercial relevance

Collaboration & quality

  • Work closely with Client Services and PR account managers to interpret briefs
  • Contribute to messaging development and content strategy
  • Manage deadlines across multiple clients and projects
  • Edit and proof content to a high standard
  • Maintain consistency in tone, structure and brand voice across channels by client

 

Skills & experience 

Essential

  • Considerable experience in B2B copywriting
  • Demonstrable experience writing for technical or specialist sectors (e.g. construction, engineering, manufacturing, professional services, energy, SaaS, etc.)
  • Strong portfolio including:
    • Email campaigns
    • Whitepapers or long-form reports
    • Website copy
    • B2B social content
  • Excellent research and interviewing skills
  • Ability to simplify complex subject matter without losing credibility
  • Strong understanding of marketing funnels and lead nurturing
  • High attention to detail and strong editorial standards
  • Experience working within an agency or fast-paced client environment

Desirable

  • Understanding of SEO best practices
  • Experience supporting PR-led thought leadership campaigns
  • Degree in English, Marketing, Journalism or related discipline
