Internships at Lesniak Swann

Our four-week paid internship is an immersive introduction to a career in marketing. You’ll experience every department, work on live client briefs and present real thinking to real people. It’s serious, hands-on work – no boring shadowing here!

Work on live projects with marketing experts

This annual internship has been refined over several years to reflect what agency life is really like.

Run in conjunction with local partners – including VCCP Stoke and The Challenger Academy – the four-week programme gives you time with every team, from creative and strategy to PR and client services.

You’ll work on a live brief for a real client, following the same processes our teams use every day.

What you can expect

This isn’t about observing from the sidelines. You’ll be involved, challenged and trusted with meaningful work from day one.

Mentored support

You’ll be supported by experienced marketers across the agency, with time to ask questions, get feedback and understand why decisions are made.

Live client brief

You’ll work on a real brief for a real client – not a hypothetical task. The work is meaningful, relevant and treated with the same seriousness as any other client project.

Proper process

From briefing and research through to creative development and strategy, you’ll follow a full agency process and learn how ideas are built, tested and refined.

Client presentation

Presenting your thinking directly to the client in deck format, you’ll gaining confidence through an experience many people don’t get until much later in their careers.

Visit to industry-leading brands

Interns undertake a group trip to London to visit top-tier businesses within the marketing sector. Previous excursions have included Adobe and LinkedIn.

Paid the London Living Wage

This is a paid, full-time summer role. You’re treated as part of the team and trusted accordingly – because good work deserves proper pay.

The work you’ll undertake

Each year’s overarching project is different, but always mirrors our real-life agency processes. Here are the kinds of tasks interns get to grips with.

First off, you’ll get a handle on the client, their audience and the wider market. That means reviewing personas, analysing content habits, researching competitors and identifying gaps and opportunities. It’s all about finding those golden nuggets of insight.
