£2,916.18 raised for Alder Hey with Gung Ho, Skydives and Coast to Coast
This year at LS we chose Alder Hey Children’s Hospital as our nominated charity. Voted for by the team as a charity that was particularly close to one of our colleagues who has had first-hand experience of the lifesaving treatment they provide when his own son needed their specialist care.
Over the year our colleagues have taken part in a sponsored Safari Walk through the wilderness of Knowsley Safari Park, a 5k Gung Ho run near Manchester, and some even jumped out of a plane at 10,000 feet over Whitchurch – with a parachute of course!
Company founder Mark Lesniak took part in a gruelling coast to coast bike ride, clocking up over 130 miles over 48 hours, and Account Manager Jo opened a tuck shop in the office which was unsurprisingly one of the main contributors to the total raised.
Our grand total was £2,916.18, which will help Alder Hey to continue making a crucial difference to both patients and their families. Thank you to everyone who supported us in our charity crusade!
Now looking forward to 2020 our team has voted to support YoungMinds, a charity working to ensure that our young people get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.
Statistics show that one in four children show some evidence of mental health issues, while three in four children with a diagnosable mental health condition do not get access to the support they need.
YoungMinds are leading the fight for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges and we will be pulling out all the stops this year to show our support. So keep a look out for our upcoming charity events and get involved if you can, the more the merrier!
Throughout the year we will be channelling our inner dealer by dedicating the profits of our ebay page to the charity. If you have any items you would wish to donate to our charity page please contact paulak@lesniakswann.com
So if you’re having a post-Christmas clear-out or if you have some old stock that you’re wondering what to do with, donate to our charity page we will turn your donation into cash for YoungMinds.
Keep an eye out for updates of our future events, including a family fun day, a children’s workshop for Growth Mindset, a 5k fun run and a few personal challenges thrown in for good measure!
